James Bentley

James Bentley is a fine art documentary photographer from the South West of England specialising in traditional and arcane photographic processes. His documentary work, having covered topics such as mental health in his family and his experience of leaving religion during his adolescence, seeks to tell personal and universal stories which aim to create a space for reflection and introspection. Bentley’s work with arcane processes is driven by a love for the materiality of the photograph with the aim of ensuring the posterity of some of photography’s first techniques.
